Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

This Privacy Policy governs your use of Paperspace. By using the service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this policy in its entirety.

01

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create a Paperspace account, we collect basic account identifiers such as your name, email address, and profile picture as provided by your chosen authentication provider. This information is necessary to operate the service.

Documents & Content

We store documents, templates, collections, and other content that you create or upload ('Your Content'). By uploading or creating content on Paperspace, you acknowledge that such content will be stored on our infrastructure and processed as necessary to deliver the service, including for AI-generated summaries.

Usage & Technical Data

We automatically collect usage data, log data, device information, IP addresses, browser type, and similar technical identifiers. This data is collected automatically and is necessary for the operation, security, and improvement of Paperspace. Your use of the service constitutes consent to this collection.

02

How We Use Your Information

Service Operation

We use your information exclusively to operate, maintain, and improve Paperspace. This includes authenticating users, storing and retrieving content, processing document operations, and enabling integrations you have explicitly activated.

AI Features

Paperspace uses two distinct AI functions: (1) Document summaries — document content may be transmitted to third-party AI providers solely to generate summaries; (2) Placeholder detection — as a fallback, Paperspace may use Google Gemini Flash Lite 2.5 flash lite to detect and identify placeholders within document templates. This function operates exclusively on document content you create within Paperspace and does not access, process, or interact with any data obtained via Google API scopes (including Google Drive or Google Forms data). Paperspace makes no warranties regarding the accuracy of AI-generated outputs, and you assume full responsibility for any reliance on them.

Service Improvement

We may use aggregated and anonymised usage data to analyse trends and improve the service. We reserve the right to use non-personally-identifiable, aggregated data for any lawful purpose without restriction.

Communications

We may send transactional and service-related communications to your registered email address. You may not opt out of essential service communications.

03

Data Sharing & Disclosure

Service Providers

We engage third-party service providers including but not limited to Convex (infrastructure), Clerk (authentication), and Vercel (hosting) to operate Paperspace. By using the service, you consent to your data being processed by these providers as necessary. Paperspace is not responsible for the data practices of third-party providers, and you are encouraged to review their respective privacy policies.

Organisation Workspaces

If you operate within an organisation workspace, documents you share within that workspace are visible to other members of the same organisation. Paperspace is not responsible for how organisation administrators or members access, use, or share documents within the workspace.

Legal Disclosure

We reserve the right to disclose any information about you without notice if we believe, in our sole discretion, that such disclosure is necessary to: comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or government request; protect the rights, property, or safety of Paperspace, its operators, users, or the public; detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues; or enforce these policies.

Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity without your consent. We will not provide separate notice of such transfers.

04

Google API Services & Limited Use

Google API Compliance

Paperspace's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. See https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy.

Google Scopes We Request

When you connect your Google account, Paperspace requests access to: (1) specific Google Drive files you use with the app (drive.file), to read and import documents; (2) your Google Forms structure (forms.body.readonly), to display form templates; and (3) responses to your Google Forms (forms.responses.readonly), to display submission data. We do not request broader Drive or account access.

Limited Use

Data obtained via Google APIs is used solely to provide and improve the in-app features you explicitly activate. We do not use Google user data to serve advertisements, transfer it to third parties except as necessary to provide the service, allow humans to read it except with your affirmative consent or as required by law, or use it for any purpose incompatible with these limited use restrictions.

05

Data Storage & Security

Infrastructure

Your data is stored on third-party cloud infrastructure. While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, Paperspace does not guarantee the security of any information transmitted to or stored on our platform. You use the service at your own risk.

No Guarantee of Security

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Paperspace expressly disclaims any representation or warranty that your data will be secure, and shall not be liable for any unauthorised access, breach, or disclosure of your data.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account exists and for such additional periods as we deem necessary for legal, operational, or legitimate business purposes. We reserve the right to delete inactive accounts and their associated data without notice after a period of prolonged inactivity.

06

Your Choices

Access & Export

You may access and export your documents at any time through the Paperspace interface. We provide no guarantee of data portability in any specific format beyond what is available within the application.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account by contacting us. Upon deletion, we will make reasonable efforts to remove your personal data, subject to any legal or operational retention requirements. Residual copies may remain in backup systems for a period after deletion.

Limitations

We reserve the right to reject requests that are unreasonably repetitive, require disproportionate technical effort, risk the privacy of others, or are not required under applicable law.

07

Cookies & Tracking

Essential Cookies

Paperspace uses cookies that are strictly necessary for the service to function, including session management and preference storage. By using Paperspace, you consent to the use of these cookies. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may prevent the service from functioning correctly.

Third-Party Cookies

Our authentication provider may set additional cookies. Paperspace does not control and is not responsible for third-party cookies. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of such cookies.

08

Disclaimer of Liability

No Warranty

Paperspace is provided strictly on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Paperspace expressly disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Paperspace, its operators, developers, affiliates, or agents be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages whatsoever — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, or unauthorised access — arising from or in connection with your use of or inability to use the service, even if Paperspace has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the service is to cease using it.

09

Changes to This Policy

Right to Modify

Paperspace reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason, without prior notice. Changes are effective immediately upon posting. The 'Last updated' date will be revised accordingly. Your continued use of the service after any modification constitutes your unconditional acceptance of the updated policy. It is your responsibility to review this policy periodically.
